Robert Dawson joined the firm in 1986 and became a partner in 1989 becoming Head of the Family Law Department in 1995.

Robert undertakes a wide range of family work including, in particular, dealing with the financial consequences of divorce and separation, cohabitation agreements, children (including care and adoption proceedings).

He has acted in a number of high value financial cases that have involved businesses, substantial pensions and other assets. He has a wide experience in proceedings concerning children gained from representing parents, wider family, local authorities and children themselves.

Whilst family law may not be the most glamorous work dealt with by the firm it comprises a significant and rewarding part of the service provided to Hadens clients.

The work is varied and challenging with no case the same as another. Every client faces the problems to be dealt with in a different way. Whilst a sympathetic approach is essential clients need and expect clear advice and not just a shoulder to cry on.

Robert is a member of The Law Society, Solicitors Family Law Association and The Children Panel of The Law Society.

He has one daughter and when not acting as unpaid taxi driver or working he heads for the hills to walk, cycle, birdwatch and ski. A keen cricketer and former secretary of Wolverhampton Cricket Club when life was a little less hectic his participation in the same is now restricted to reading and talking about it!
